Today’s thoughts

April 18th 2021

You ever have a great idea start it and loose interest. I hate that feeling.

Anxiety can over take everything from the physical to my plans/ideas.

Making me sleep too much and body aches.

My mind still has plans but no energy to do them. Trying step by step in small amounts of time.

My house is a mess and so is my brain, hate it. Stay organized is a full time job at this time.

In mind I am getting stuff done but in real life nothing has changed.

Who can relate?

My positive journal prompts answers

There maybe affiliate link in the post which I may make a few pennies if you make a purchase.

Sorry that took me a while to answer these but I have been too busy to finish up the post. I did answer these 2 weeks ago but just couldn’t finish the rest. Honestly I have been playing too much Minecraft and Streaming for a secondary income source. For some reason I find it relaxing to just build stuff, but I was post about this another day.

Back to the answer, I hope you are able to answer some and get a bit of personal insight into the next year. We all need to stay positive about stuff and focus on ourselves both physically and mentally. After last year and all the craziness we have been through as a country, all this positive is much needed. Honestly last year was not much different than usually for me except the kids were home all the time. But my mental health took a big hit from all the extra stress and my body changing after hitting 40, I think. I am also feeling like I was too busy before to notice my mental breakdown starting years before. I have been sick for a few years but really didn’t have as much Anxiety as I did last year. Let’s make this year so much better than last.

1. List 5 things you want from 2021.

  • #1. Be more productive
  • #2. Stick with this blog
  • #3. Declutter my house
  • #4. Go on more adventures outside with my kids
  • #5. Continue on my journey

2. What is your biggest flaw?

This can be good and/or bad flaw. My biggest flaw is I hate cleaning, my brain will avoid it at all costs. I can do it but once it gets to a point I just can’t handle. I really want to fix this too! (Ps no shaming)

3. Name 3 things that were good in 2020 and can be continued in 2021?

  • #1. I love writing so I want to continue.
  • #2. Reading more, I like to read but I really need to find the right book to enjoy it.
  • #3. My minecraft YouTube channel, yes I have a YouTube and I play minecraft too. (I will explain why in another post)

4. If you were on a mental health journey, where would it take you?

My journey is taking me somewhere I can feel more stable and happy. By stable, I mean not so tired all the time and to be able to get stuff done. As for happy, I mean self content. I am not sad but I would love to love myself more.

5. Name 6 of your best qualities.

  • #1. Helpful
  • #2. Good listener
  • #3. Good friend
  • #4. Funny (or at least I think so)
  • # 5. Great mom

6. Write a short note to yourself; about how you feel about who you are right now.

I feel like I have come a long way but we still have a ways to go. The good about that is we never give up, no matter how long it takes. Some journey take longer than others and over coming it all is not easy. Mental health and fibromyalgia has kicked our butt this year so here’s to getting stronger again in 2021.

7. What is your number 1 must do for 2021? Explain it.

My #1 of 2021 is to get organized, I have so many plans/ideas in my head and even started, I need to make a better plan. Be creative has it down falls in this is it; you want to do it all and that’s impossible. So organizing my creative stuff, my ideas, and plans into one central place would be best.

8. Do you have people around you that are positive? If not can you change that (baby steps are ok).

Yes I do and I miss the hell out of them since covid and no school pick up.

9. Do you have any long-term goals?

We use small goals to get to the long-term ones. Long term I would love to grow this blog and grow with it. Inspiring others has always been a dream of mine and my story is a long complicated one. Bit by bit I will be opening up and sharing more but I don’t want to scare you all off yet, lol.

10. Name the proudest moment of your life. Personal to you; not a wedding or child birth, those are givens.

I have a vivid memory of my middle son with Autism reading out loud at a school meeting. I have never been so proud in my life, I cheered so loud and cried.

11. Name 10 coping skills you use or want to use when you are overwhelmed.

  • These are the ones I use now
  • #1. Bath/shower
  • #2. Sit in the car alone
  • #3. Playing minecraft
  • #4. Reading
  • #5. Writing
  • #6. Napping
  • #7. Taking a walk
  • #8. Coloring
  • #9. Chores (when my anxiety is super high)
  • #10. Making something pretty

12. What holds you back from being the person you want to be?

Right this minute my mental health seems to be the biggest thing in my way. Mostly because I am tired all the time and can’t focus enough.

13. Name 4 positive things you can do daily to make you and your community happier. Like waving to the mail person.

  • #1. Say thank you.
  • #2. Offer to help someone who needs it.
  • #3. Volunteer
  • #4. Hold the door for someone

14. If money was not a problem, what would you dream (manageable dream) of doing? Then think of a few steps to follow that dream.

I have always dreamed of having my own shop to sell all my creations in.

15. Write 3 inspiring says or quotes you can remember when your feeling down.

My favorite quote is “everything happens for a reason”, I 100% believe in it. Next would have to being “God doesn’t give you more than you can handle”, it was taught to me by my oldest son. Lastly one day at a time or even one hour at a time, another I learned from my kids.

I hope my answers help you feel more comfortable about your self discovery and that there is no wrong answer.

When your cat is too cute to move.

Just sitting here trying to get some blogging done and this little nugget had another plan. I guess he knew I need some love. I felt like I should share with you with a little look into my life. Ps I hate my picture taken but I am working on be more open.

How can you move this cuteness?

Him has been my baby since he was a month old. When a cat picks you it’s such a different bond. He is more of a human baby than any other kitten I have had. I almost forgot his name is Twich, Fluff Nugget, or Fur Monkey.

Pets are also good for your mental health, especially if you live alone. I do talk to them and love them up. Personally I love them laying on me, their warmth and weight calms me down.

Do you have a pet that calms you done? Share them with us on Facebook.

My kids are killing me slowly

Personal Mom Rant!

My kids are killing me slowly. I am 1000% overwhelmed with the mess and chaos that the kids are causing, what is even worse since covid. Besides that I never getting a break from them to caught up. I clean and feel like I am getting less than no where if that’s possible. Not only is this overwhelming but frustrating to the point where I want to give up (cleaning that is). With that said, I am back to anxiety napping to avoid everything.

I need to motivate myself and get the kids to help too, insert laugh here. As of right now, I have a to-do list and have every plan to do it but physically can’t. I thought I was getting better but since last month I just can’t focus. I know that I really can’t demand them to clean if I am not doing it either. I prefer to lead by example and honestly the whole house is still trashed from Christmas; it’s not fair to put the whole thing on them. I have been cleaning slowly but it really seem like the messes are made way to fast to get anywhere.

Today I noticed my second problem, the fighting. I was in the living room sitting doing nothing with one kid next to me and the other in the next room, they were being good. I get up and to do some dishes within a minute they were fighting. OMG I was about to loose my freaking mind. I hate dishes and the mess pisses me off in general then the fighting. I wanted to kill both of them. Not to mention the oldest, who says he never makes a mess, insert huge laugh here. It is all frustrating!!

I did get a new fitness watch (aff link) for Christmas to get back on track with my health and mental health. This watch has stress and body battery level, I know it is not prefect but it will at least give me an idea. So far my stress level is high 90% of the time, my battery has been very low and my heart is high as usual. Today my body battery level has finally gone up but I have been resting a ton: final moved from 5% to 19% today. I know that’s not much but I have been at 5% since I got the watch, LOL. So I am watching how it moves to see the best way to rest and lower my stress level for longer. In the end, I want to be able to not feel so tired all the time. The high stress rate uses some much energy that I am loosing it as soon as I get it. I love this watch, it is worth every penny.

Any Advice is welcome?? I have tried almost everything but three kids all with different disabilities it is so hard to find the right fit.

11 ways to not get overwhelmed the during holidays

With Christmas and the New Year coming on us fast, which can become a big stressor. Trying to not get overwhelmed this year with everything that is happening maybe harder in a different way. I know I am thinking about staying safe at home into all the holidays are over. Covid has really put a different kind of anxiety in the air with all the big changes. I know many of you are struggling financially or feeling alone but just remember this won’t last. I planned a more simple Christmas by making decorations, enjoy movies, and baking with the kids. What about you?

There maybe an affiliate link in this blog post, which mean I may make a few pennies when you shop.

Here are 11 ways to not get overwhelmed during the holidays.

1. Get some quiet/alone time, even if it’s only 15 minutes. Couple ideas: sit in the car alone, wake up before everyone in the morning, take a walk around the block, or go for a short drive alone. Sometimes shopping alone can be mood changing too.

2. Do something just for you. This could be getting a treat or doing your hair to feel pretty. It is okay to be selfish sometimes and doing something just for you, we can count it as self care. I just bought a new Christmas Adult Coloring book for myself. I love coloring with sparkling gel pens, my inner kid squeals!!

3. Say no! I know many of us hate to say no but we need to learn to say it. Saying no is not selfish or bad, it just means you know your limits. Us moms, tend to spread ourselves to thin and pay for it later. So I give you permission to say NO!

4. Watch or read a Christmas/holiday movie or book. I love cute little Christmas/Romance movie to lighten my mood and get my Holiday spirit back. Sometimes a good cry helps too, it releases some emotions.

5. Start a new tradition or continue an old one. Making happy memories is one of the best things in life. These kind of memories can last a lifetime and be passed down to the next generation.

6. Ask for help! Much like saying no, we also hate to asking for help. If you have a good support system ask them for help. You can also ask outside people for help too like a therapist or 800 number. Do not feel embarrassed, they are there for a reason. Yes, I am therapy.

7. Use a list or tracker for shopping or gift giving. I did this this year, I tend to buy what I buy and not care but this year my middle guy was getting left out. So I made a tracker to make sure he was getting enough too. The problem was I had no idea what to get him and my Amazon was really good at suggestion for the other 2, lol. The tracker was anything special get tally market next to their names, one part for clothes and one for every thing else. No remembering needed. It worked great and helped me to stop buying more.

8. Feel free to ask someone what they want. I hate stressing over what to get people and I will ask. It is okay to make shopping easier for you. It also helps the other person mood by not getting them something they hate. For a fact, I know that can ruin someone Christmas for many years.

9. Stay home. Who says you have to go out? Now with covid you shouldn’t be going out but normally you don’t have to either. People you can stay home and relax. Being social all the time can be mentally exhausting too. I can’t wait to stay home this year and not have think about anything else but my kids. We have coloring books and puzzles to do.

10. Talk about your stress. This idea may seem easy but many people do not like to discuss mental health. Talking about your feels help you from bottling them up, which can lead to more stress. Just know I am always here to chat.

11. Make something/gifts for a loved ones. Being creative is a great way to lessen stress and giving always makes us happy. Even if you don’t think you’re creative you can write a little note in a card or bake some yummy. There are so many ways to express yourself.

Porch dropping or dusting as they call it, will brighten someone else day too. When I am in the mood giving puts a smile on my face. But even more than that my kids love to make others happy, which warms my heart.

Goals for the New Year 2021

This Mom's Philosophy's Goals for the New Year

There may be an affiliate link in this post, which means I may make a few cents if you shop.

My goals are going to be a bit different this year because we are still in a covid world. I hate to use the word resolution because people usually don’t follow through with them. The word goals is much stronger to me and can be changed or adjusted through the year. With that said, my goals are going to be mostly personal this year. I am putting my personal development over my business goals this year, which is a huge change for me. But at some point you have to come first before you are unable to do anything. Yes, stress can kill you. Many people don’t understand that because you don’t see it until it’s too late (already sick). My point is to take care of yourself even when you think there is no time. Your body and mind will thank you.

Need help tracking/planning your goals??

Goal #1 – Declutter my house to help lessen my anxiety and stress level. I have been working on this for years but this year I going take it seriously. There really is a lot of clutter in my house these days even with being organized a bit. So it is time to get rid of some stuff and put other stuff away.

Goal #2 – Make self care a priority daily by doing something just for me. For example, free writing or putting on make up. Sometimes even the smallest things can make a difference in your day even if you only know about it.

Goal #3 – Learn more about growth mindset and personal growth as a way to become more positive. I am hoping this will rub off on my kids too. They learned a little about growth mindset in school this year but both of them are hard on themselves. One is a perfectionist and the other is negative all the time. I need to lead by example.

Goal #4 – Get outside when I am stress like going for a walk or sit somewhere calming. I used to walk a lot but stopped and now I am gaining some weight back. So this goal has double results, sweet right?

Goal #5 – Read More, I love learning but hate reading. I want to add this to my self-care list and help encourage my kids to read more too. The main reason I hate reading is because I struggled with it when I was young. I finally realized I had Dyslexia in college and have worked hard to over come it. I have a few Christmas books downloaded from amazon to start with.

These goals are made to be able to adjust as I get deeper into my personal growth journey.

It is okay to be in a bad mood

There may be an affiliate link in this blog post which means I make a few pennies when you shop.

It is okay to be in a bad mood or have a bad day but This Mom's Philosophy.

I was driving in the car this morning (Monday) and I was sitting at a stop light thinking boy I am in a bad mood. That feeling/thought just came out of no where while sitting there. I wasn’t thinking about anything specific just running my errands and getting gas in the car. So decided I want to talk to you all about this; it being okay to be in a bad mood. We are totally allowed to have our feelings and talk about them. I would like to add that this blog has helped lessen my headache; not sure how or why but talking about stuff does help.

I tried to pin point my bad mood, I haven’t slept to well since I fell down the stairs the other day. I am fine but I bruised up a good part of my butt and back which make it hard to move at night. I tosser and turner all night because my body gets numb if I lay on it too long from the fibromyalgia. But again I lack sleep all the time, so it’s not new.

Fancy Sock of the Month Club Subscription sale.

Next I feel like my time of the month is on it’s way, sometimes my PMS can be horrible. I get very irritable and like to yell and complain a lot. I well add, it is usually not for no reason either. Like this morning I went into the kitchen it was a mess, I cleaned up the night before and magically it looked worse than before I cleaned. But like the lack of sleep this happens all the time. Although this does make me madder some days than others.

I am also feeling overwhelmed with home and the kids. Like I said above, the kids are a mess and not one of them (3) will help me. Last week I had to ground my middle son from the computer and he didn’t care. I really only ask them to do simple things like put the recycling out on the porch or sweep the floor. They are good at doing such a bad job that I hate asking them to do it again. This drives me nuts. After being home with them since March, I am loosing it with the messes and stuff everywhere. I usually clean while they are gone at school but it feels pointless with them home. Any ideas on how to fix this???

I ran my errands and did a little shopping at the Salivation Army then got a snack. By the time I got home I was a little better. I also took some time before bed to clean a little (I mean a tiny bit) of my sewing table. I really want to get back to my work but that room is a total mess too. Over the last few months my anxiety wouldn’t even let my stand at the table and do anything, so that was an improvement. I will get back there soon enough with winter coming. Love being snowed in and crafting!
